Our History
By October 1992, a small group of German investors bought the Tamarindo DIRIA Beach Hotel, which was founded in the early 1970s as the first real Hotel In our area and by then had been expanded to about 70 rooms directly on the beach.
Since the beginning, Wolfgang Gollas, a successful entrepreneur in the European fashion industry, was the promoter and leader of the activities that took place around the hotel.
In the middle of the 90s decade, the vision for developing Tamarindo into an important tourist destination grew. The extraordinary beach with the two estuaries, the neighboring Playa Grande with the Las Baulas National Park and the multicultural composition of the population, all together would make Tamarindo an extraordinary tourist destination.
As a consequence, the DIRIA Group began acquiring many properties around Playa Tamarindo, for example Tamarindo Airport and Rancho Tamarindo, which is our main project developing with a Golf & Airpark Community.
DIRIA Group began to develop and establish itself as one of the first and then the largest developers of our zone. (Read more)
The Tamarindo DIRIA Beach Resort grew over the years to 242 rooms and built the DIRIA Boulevard built the DIRIA Boulevard with a wide variety of shops,casino and restaurants. It is considered an icon and as a true Beach Resort extremely popular and successful. (Read more)
In 2014, the group acquired the neighboring Boutique Hotel Jardin del Eden, which was then renovated and expanded to 46 rooms. The Adult-Only Hotel has won many awards and actually is one of the best in its category far beyond the borders. (Read more)

By this way, we will be able to promote the Costa Rican "Pura Vida" lifestyle to many people in the future.
